California: Oppose SB 704 today!
Dear [Lawmaker],
I am writing to respectfully urge you to oppose Senate Bill 704 when it comes before the Assembly. This bill imposes unnecessary restrictions on law-abiding citizens while doing nothing to deter criminals who disregard the law. Senate Bill 704 would prohibit the sale or transfer of a firearm barrel unless it is processed through a licensed firearm dealer and the individual first undergoes a background check. SB 704 only impacts California’s law-abiding gun owners by subjecting them to additional administrative hurdles to access firearm components. I urge you to reject SB 704 and instead support measures that target criminals and improve community safety. Thank you for considering my views.
