In the Lone Star State, private property rights are the bedrock of our freedom and prosperity. From the days of the Republic to today, we’ve built our legacy on the principle that what you own is yours to steward, protect, and pass down.
Yet, these rights are under siege from government overreach, unchecked eminent domain, soaring property taxes, and regulatory burdens that chip away at our independence.
Consider eminent domain: While intended for true public needs, it’s too often abused to favor private interests or speculative projects. The Texas GOP’s recent resolution highlights how rural landowners and family farms have been displaced for developments that prioritize economic gain over genuine necessity. Loopholes in our laws allow condemnations for “economic development,” transferring land from hardworking Texans to corporations or quasi-governmental entities without fair recourse.
We must protect property owners’ ability to produce electricity on their land or lease their land for renewable energy production. As stewards of their land, we should let them develop their private property as they best see fit. But these fundamental beliefs are constantly under attack and challenge by lawmakers hell bent on telling you how to manage your land or what the best purpose is for your own land.
Texans, it’s time to act. Join us in protecting private property rights and supporting eminent domain reforms that protect Texas landowners. Our property rights aren’t just lines on a deed—they’re the foundation of our liberty. Let’s protect them before they’re gone.
